What is the default review option?
Updated over a week ago

The default review option is usually set by the course author. However, if you think an alternative review option would suit you better, you can change it. You can go back to what the author recommends at any time by selecting the option that is marked with an asterisk (*). The two available modes are:

  • Random: You will only be prompted with positions that are ready to be reviewed. This way, you will not overstudy positions that are not ready for review.

  • Full variation: You will be prompted to review the entire variation as soon as one move is ready to be reviewed.

You will find this option in your course settings.

Where do I find course settings/options?

If you need to adjust or change some of your course's settings, you can do so by clicking into the course (click the course title on the homepage), and on the Chapters page that loads, on the right side, you will find the course's settings.

Please take a look at the steps below:

Step 1 - Click the course title on the homepage.

Step 2 - You will find the following options:

  • Study

  • Review

  • Reps

  • Depth

  • Soft fail

  • Schedule

  • Time

  • Tactics

  • Learn (only available on some large repertoires)

  • Pause all chapters: Pausing all of the chapters in the course will remove them from your review queue and the default learning sequence.

  • Delete my progress: Removes all of your progress within the course. Chessable will treat all of the chapters as if you're seeing them for the first time. Note that deleting your progress cannot be undone.

  • Fast-forward time (FFT): Selecting this option schedules all of the course's learned moves/variations for immediate review. You need a token to use FFT, available from the ruby store.
