What is the 'Learn' setting? What are Priority Lines?
What is the 'Learn' setting? What are Priority Lines?
Updated over a week ago

In the majority of courses, you have the option to learn all the lines in the course or learn only the most important lines. If you change this setting, you can either learn all the content of the course, or make it so that the Learn Next button only takes you from lessons marked as Priority to the next variation marked as Priority!

All opening courses (and some tactics/strategy courses) have a Priority Lines option. There are two types of Priority Lines: Author Selection and Algorithm Selection.

Author-selected Priority Lines are handpicked by the author as the lines they view as most important to learn. Not all authors choose to indicate Priority Lines, so the option may not be there if that’s the case.

Algorithm-selected Priority Lines are available in all courses where Priority Lines are available. Algorithm-selected Priority Lines identify the most important variations for you to study based on a database of online games in a certain rating range.

Swapping your learn setting is particularly important if you have already finished learning all the "important lines" and you want to complete the whole course instead.
