Where/how can I edit my variations?
Where/how can I edit my variations?
Updated over a week ago

There are two ways in which the Edit Variations window can be reached. One method is to enter the “Read Mode” for a single variation by left-clicking into it in a Chapter Overview and then clicking on the “Edit Variation” field below it:

Alternatively, you can enter the “Edit Variations” mode from any chapter list and click on the big Edit button next to the variation you want to edit:

The Edit Variation window consists of several fields and options. From top to bottom, we will examine them each in turn:

  • Comments Windows: The window where you are able to write text and add annotations to the course. It also allows you to add clickable variations. It also has the “formatting help” button at the bottom which allows you to quickly check formatting tips and tricks.

  • Upload a new diagram feature: Allows you to upload the image/diagram to the variation.

  • Add annotation window: Allows you to add annotation symbols (=, +-, etc.) to a move

  • Key move check box: Allows you to select key moves of a variation.

  • Add New Alternative Move option: Allows you to add a soft-fail move in the variation.

  • Variation Name Tab: Allows you to rename the variation - something that can also be done from “Edit Mode” in the chapter overview.

  • Move Variation menu: Here it is possible to edit the variation between different courses or different chapters of the same course. This only applies to any courses you have created.

  • More Options dropdown menu: This menu allows you to edit additional details like the result of the game or the opening color. Mass Update options are only available for admin-level users.
