How can I draw arrows and circles?

The visual cues feature is available on the Add-new-line page and when adding a new variation through the analysis board. When adding a new line or editing a current one, you can use your mouse's right-click to either add a circle or by holding it, draw an arrow. You can remove whatever you drew in a position by clicking the middle button (mouse wheel).

Chessbase offers three basic colors of arrows and circles to be added to the files that can be imported in Chessable (although note that newer versions of Chessbase provide more possibilities in that regard), as follows:

  • Green arrows and highlighted squares: Added by holding the Shift button and using the right-mouse button - either by dragging the mouse (arrows) or selecting a square (highlighted squares).

  • Red arrows and circles: Added by holding Alt + Ctrl and using the right-mouse button - either by dragging the mouse (arrows) or selecting a square (highlighted squares).

  • Yellow arrows and circles: Added by holding Alt and using the right-mouse button - either by dragging the mouse (arrows) or selecting a square (highlighted squares)
